Shantelle April Newsletter

Hello, It’s Ms. Shantelle.

Happy Spring!

Summer Reading is around the corner and soon Ms. Shantelle will begin her planning stages for newborns to 19 years of age.

The theme this year is “Adventure Begins at Your Public Library”. We will have lots of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. This summer we will use Beanstack again as a way to track your reading and complete different activity challenges. There will be prizes and various giveaways. There will be no paper logs given out to log your reading.  Registration begins Friday, May 31, from 10AM to 5:30PM. Registration will continue throughout the summer, up until the last two weeks of summer.

We will have special guest readers this summer. Make sure you get a calendar so you don’t miss out on any activities.

We also have new books in the children’s and teen areas for your reading pleasure. When you visit the library, don’t forget to check out the Blue Elephant. That’s where we keep our new picture books. Just look for the blue dot. If you don’t have a library card, remember it’s FREE.

Also, when you get your new library card, you will be able to take advantage of many different activity passes like the Zoo pass, Puppetry Arts pass, Georgia State Park pass, and Theater passes, too.

Special thanks to Farm Bureau’s Lacie McFarlin for our educational partnership. Ms. Lacie will be on the calendar for summer programming as well.

Ms. Jenny is visiting our regional counties in the Bookmobile, “Spreading library love one mile at a time” each week. To see Ms. Jenny’s schedule, stop by the front desk at the library for your copy.

And remember, “Oh the places you will go when you pick up a book!” See you at your Toccoa-Stephens County Public Library.

Happy Reading!

Ms. Shantelle
