Through a grant made available from the Institute for Museum and Library Services, the Toccoa-Stephens County Public Library now has new Chromebooks available for take home use by patrons. A carrying case and charging cord are included. The internet-ready laptops check out for two weeks and can be renewed twice. If patrons do not have internet access at home, the library can also provide mobile hotspots that will allow internet access. The hotspots also check out for two weeks with two renewals but are first come first served. This program is partially assisted with funds from the Library Services and Technology Act.

Build confidence and reading skills, and have fun, with eRead Kids, a new digital library available through all public libraries in the state. Young readers have access to almost 15,000 electronic and audio books. This free collection of ebooks and audio books is for kids in pre K to fourth grade. It’s a mix of fiction and non-fiction titles that can be downloaded onto computers, tablets and smartphones. Check out eRead Kids at your library or anywhere with an Internet connection. All you need is your library card and library PIN.
