Join us at the Toccoa-Stephens County Public Library on Saturday, February 22nd at 3 p.m. for a celebration of local black authors. We are thrilled to welcome Justin Richie to the library as our moderator for the event. We are excited to announce our first two authors for the event Seth Gholston and Fuquan Warren.
“Seth Gholston, a native of Toccoa, GA, grew up rooted in faith and community as a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He now resides in Lithonia, GA, with his wife, Kendal Gholston, and their two sons, Cooper and Liam. Seth was an active participant in his community, contributing through various organizations including Mt. Zion Youth Department, Boy Scouts, and local recreational basketball, football, and baseball leagues. He earned letters in both band and tennis at SCHS, as well as Morehouse College, where he was drumline section leader. He graduated from Morehouse College in 2008 with a degree in Business Administration. Seth is a 33rd-degree Prince Hall Mason, and the author of a children’s book. Seth continues to embody the values of faith, leadership, and community leaving a legacy for his family and those he serves.”
“Fuquan Warren is a seasoned professional educator with over 25 years of teaching experience. He was born and raised in Toccoa, GA and is a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he serves as Chairman of the Deacon Board. Fuquan has been married to his beautiful wife Pecola Warren for 20 years, and they have two sons, J’Quan and Justin. He is the son of Roy and Sherry Williams of Toccoa. Some of his hobbies include watching football, swimming, telling jokes, and writing poetry. Fuquan earned his bachelor’s from Carson- Newman university, and his master’s and specialist degrees from Piedmont University. Fuquan is committed to working with youth in his school and communities to ensure that they have every opportunity to accomplish their immediate and future goals.”
