Christmastime’s a’coming…are you ready?
Me neither, but we will have fun anyway!
We have a lot of activities planned for the month, which may or may not include dressing up. You’ll just have to come by and check it out!
We are updating our public computer space on Friday, Dec.6. Due to the construction and placement of this new space, we will be closing at 1PM.
On Thursday, December 12, many of our staff will be walking in the Downtown Christmas Parade! This year, Jenny will be driving our new Regional Bookmobile in the parade. Come out and see us, shop around downtown, and kick off the season with the parade! I have never walked in any parade before and I am so looking forward to seeing all the people and of course the beautiful lights!
Our monthly Book Clubs are still underway, and we welcome new members. The first one, Tuesday, December 10 at 1PM we will be discussing two Debbie Macomber books, Mr Miracle and Mrs Miracle’s Christmas. On Tuesday, December 17, our Classic Book Club meets at 4PM. We will be discussing Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. I love this book, and I am looking forward to talking about it with you. Also: which is your favorite movie version of this story? I’d love to know!
Don’t forget, Chess meets at 11AM on Mondays, and Mah Jongg is every Monday and Wednesday at 1PM. We recently celebrated two years of our Mah Jongg group! I know the ladies would love to have new people, so if you have even the slightest idea that you might like to play, come give it a try!
In observance of Christmas, we will be closed December 24-26.
Right now I am reading Mostly Homemade by Antoinette Johnson and Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune. I like them both, but really I have only just started the Klune book. However, Antoinette Johnson has introduced me to the wonder that is store-bought gnocchi. My waistline will never forgive her, but wow! So yummy!
Happiest of Holidays, friends, and I am really looking forward to 2025!
Come by and see me!
Carol,
Thanks for all you do! Book clubs are wonderful – really enjoying the classics!
